Did you know that twenty-five percent of the United States population is between the ages of 18 and 30? How is the Church providing for these young adults?
For a century, Lutheran Campus Ministry has been working to re-present Christ on the campuses of our nation’s colleges and universities. In the Florida-Bahamas Synod, we have recognized the increasing need for missionaries in this ever-changing mission field. Using a peer ministry model that incorporates spiritual formation and community building on campuses and through the Internet, these students are the Church for young adult peers! Campus ministry impacts young adults in many ways.
Listen to Stephanie, Peer Minister at University of North Florida, tell us her story: Campus Ministry has made a difference in my life! It has provided me the opportunity to develop my leadership skills and try a variety of positions in a safe environment. I discovered that I am good at coordinating worship and playing the guitar. Discovering my own spiritual gifts and talents has given me a better grasp on how I am able to serve others now and in the future. I never feel useless when it comes to campus ministry activities, as I know there is a part for me to play.
Being a Peer Minister and serving others while having the opportunity to be a part of our Christ–centered community has transformed my life. Thanks to all of you who make campus ministry possible! Keep praying for us!

Almighty and everlasting God, we thank you for your servants whom you have called to be missionaries on the campuses of colleges and universities. Grant that through them young adults everywhere are restored to unity with you and one another in Christ. Strengthen your Church as it prays, worships, proclaims the Gospel, and promotes justice, peace and love; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen
