Setting up PPP for the Alachua Free-Net under OS/2 Warp First, a disclaimer. This worked for me, but I offer no guarantees, only good wishes for your success. Three short steps to get you running, assuming you have successfully installed OS/2 Warp(r) and the Internet Access Kit (IAK) portion of the Bonus Pak. Note: some early packages of the Bonus Pak didn't come with PPP programs. In any event, you should get the latest versions of SLIP/PPP-related software. Among other sources, they are available in the file ppp.zip via anonymous FTP from updates.gopher.ibm.com in the /pub/PPP directory. 1. Copy the pppafn.cmd file to your \TCPIP\BIN directory. Edit the file to make sure the comm port number and modem speeds are correct for your system. 2. Copy the pppafn.rsp and resolv files to your TCPIP\ETC directory. Edit the pppafn.rsp file to put in your username and password. 3. Installation is complete. Enter pppafn.cmd to start the program at any OS/2 prompt. Once the connection is made, you can use any of the IBM-provided networking programs, including telnet, WebExplorer, gopher, and FTP. If you want to set up an icon to start the program for you, so you can double-click on it any time you want to connect, drag a program icon from the templates folder and configure its settings to execute C:\TCPIP\BIN\pppafn.cmd.
