Upcoming Pack Activities
Christmas
Caroling
On December 12th, at 5:30 p.m., we will all gather to sing Christmas
carols at the Palm Garden Retirement Home. Caroling is a special
treat for the residents, and for our boys, so let us join our voices
together (to drown mine out!). Boys who participate will receive
a special caroling patch. Palm Garden is located at 227 SW 62nd
Blvd in Gainesville (331-0601). See you there!
December
Pack Meeting
Please join us on Tuesday, December 19th, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.,
in the Wiles Elementary Cafeteria for our December pack meeting.
As always, we will celebrate together with fun games and activities,
and we will honor the hard-earned achievements of individual tiger
cubs, cub scouts, and webelos.
To
help our boys learn the true message of the holidays-giving of ourselves-we
have "adopted" a family that is struggling to make ends meet during
this season. We will sing Christmas carols during our meeting, as
we decorate a Christmas tree for our "adopted" family.
Then, after all the feverish activity and just before our closing
ceremony, we will replenish our energy by feasting on traditional
refreshments brought by each of our pack families!!
For
our December pack meeting to be a success, we ask that each boy
and his family bring the following to the meeting:
1) a traditional holiday refreshment to be shared during the meeting
2) a wrapped gift and/or a non-perishable food item for the "adopted"
family or a family member.
Our
adopted family consists of a 6-7 year old boy (1st grade, wears
size 7 or 8); a 5-year-old girl (size 5 or 6; needs winter coat);
a 3-year-old boy (size 3 or 4; needs winter coat); a 1-year-old
boy (size 1 or 2); and a Mom (needs larger size maternity clothes).
On
the day following the pack meeting, a committee of adults will take
the decorated tree and your gifts to the family. We thank you for
your generosity!

February-Blue & Gold Banquet
March-Pinewood Derby
May-Graduation!!
Note:
We need volunteers to organize the Blue and Gold Banquet, to be
held in February. Please call Pat Throop (373-6427) or Bob Swett
(377-8165) if you can help.

DO NOT forget Camp Buc Tuocs XII in February 2-4, 2001. You are
guaranteed to have a fabulous time. Just ask any scout who has been
there. Talk to Pat Throop about registration. Applications are due
before January 4th!

A reminder to our returning scouts-please don't forget to re-register.
The cost is $7.70, which can be given to Pat Throop, our Pack Committee
Chair (373-6427; 7811 SW 56th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32608); or
Brenda Brecht (377-5878; 5502 SW 81st Terrace, Gainesville, FL 32608),
our Pack Treasurer. The money also can be turned in at our next
pack meeting.

Each boy please remember that you need to give the pack $15 to cover
the yearly cost of advancement badges, achievement awards, patches,
and other items. This money can be given to your den leader, another
pack leader, or turned in at the next pack meeting.
