A Message from Phil Smith, State Director

Here in Georgia, the message of the Concord Coalition strikes a note with nearly everyone. Most folks in the "Peach State" are fiscally conservative, so it's no surprise that our message about ending the destructive habit of deficit spending finds a receptive audience.

Georgia plays a crucial role in national politics, and our Concord Coalition chapter is striving to make a real positive impact. In 1992, Bill Clinton won Georgia by a closer margin than any other state in the union. Georgia's electorate was swayed partly because of his campaign pledge to balance the budget. Then in 1994, a Georgia Congressman led his party to take over the U.S. House of Representatives, and "Newt" became a household name. Now with the 1996 Presidential race at hand, our chapter and our state has a chance to in shape the agenda. As the candidates descend on Georgia, our members will be there to ask the tough questions, cut though the rhetoric and smoke, and demand some real answers.

Our strength is in our numbers, and we need YOU! On behalf of our grandchildren and yours, we battle pro-debt lobbyists and special interests every day, and they outnumber us 100 to one. Take the first step toward helping save our country's future and contact us today. On behalf of the Georgia chapter, I am pleased to extend an invitation to you to join the Concord Coalition.
