His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, who founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust also founded in 1975 the Bhaktivedanta Institute. The purpose of the Institute is to establish the scientific basis of the Vedic conception of life as a nonmaterial principle and to explore the cosmology of the Vedas with the aim of building a Vedic planetarium.
