Baker Act was a high-energy ska-punk and later just punk band from Gainesville, Florida. Over the years from 1994 through 2002 we grew from a pair of kids writing songs to a six-piece outfit of friends playing shows and making records with the limited resources and experience we had between us. Looking back so much could have been done differently -- but then it would have been a different band. In a way the tension, enthusiasm, and comradery that characterized both our time on stage and our time together was the most honest depiction of what we were trying to express in our songs; our belligerent insistence on taking on life on our own terms. Some things just have to be lived to be known. To everyone that came out, danced with us, screamed with us, and grew up with us -- thanks, we love you. - Rob
