Mr. Steve Flowers of Scan Technology, our Membership Committee Chairman, has made a very exciting preliminary proposal to the BOD. This proposal includes the following incentives for a "Fast Start":
For the months of May and June, 1999, Scan Technology will award $10 to any current member who recruits a new guest, or one who has not attended an AITP chapter dinner meeting within the past 6 months.
In addition, if the new guest applies to join AITP by June 30, 1999, Scan Technology will pay dinners of both the current member and the new member at the September 1999 dinner meeting. Current employees of Scan Technology are not eligible for these awards, although any new member recruited by Scan Technology employees will receive a paid dinner in September, 1999.
Special Bonus: If a current non-member who has attended chapter meetings as a guest within the past 6 months applies to join AITP by June 30, 1999, he or she will be awarded a free dinner at the September 1999 dinner meeting by Scan Technology.
In addition, to recognize their contribution to the growth of the Chapter, Scan Technology will provide a plaque of recognition for the current member recruiting the most new members by June 30, 1999.
The BOD feels this is a great opportunity and we are especially grateful to Steve Flowers and Scan Technology. We felt that the timing for these incentives is excellent, because for May, we have a presentation on ADSL by BellSouth, and for June, we have a presentation on Jacksonville Jaguars Information Technology.
