I do not indorse in any way the selling or breeding of white Doberman Pinschers

History

In the late 1800's a German tax collector and part time dog catcher by the name of Louis Dobermann wanted to create a breed of dog that he could take on his tax collecting routes to protect him from bandits and also to convince reluctant tax payers to cough up the money.  Being that he was a part time dog catcher, he had access to many different types of breeds of dogs to experiment with.  It in not known for certain, but many speculate that he mixed German Shepherd Dog, Grey Hound, German Pinscher, and possibly some other breeds.  He is now known today as the father of the modern day Doberman Pinscher.

The Doberman Pinscher Today

Contrary to popular belief the Doberman Pinscher is not a guard dog, it is a personal protection dog.  Although it serves well in both roles, it is evident in the build and stamina of the dog that they were breed to walk beside their owner protecting him from whatever might be considered a threat. Doberman Pinschers are known to be highly intelligent, they are one of the few breeds of dogs that can actually think independently and make its own decisions.  Despite the bad rap that they get in today's society, the Doberman has proved to be a loving and loyal companion for life.

Personality

Although every dog has its own personality, there are many traits that are carried down through the bloodlines of this breed.  The Doberman Pinscher is a very loving dog that thrives to be with his owner and to work side by side with his owner.   They are very alert, always looking to see what is going on.  Below I have listed some traits that will sum up the Doberman Pinscher.
  • Fearless
  • Alert
  • Loyal
  • Loving
  • Noble
  • Inquisitive

Colors

The Doberman Pinscher is available in several different colors:   Black with tan markings, Red with tan markings, Blue, and Fawn.  There are white Doberman, but they are not recognized by the AKC or The Doberman Pinscher Club of America.  This is due to the fact that the white color is a fault in the dog.   The fault comes from the albino trait in the dog's eyes, because it is a working dog the white Doberman is hindered in its sight.  Any breeder that sells White Dobermans is someone that you should not purchase a dog from.

My Dobermans

I have been lucky in my short period of my life to have been in the presence of two different Doberman Pinschers, Kelsey who is a Black and Tan female and Casey who is a Red and Tan female.  I currently own Casey and have had her for almost two years now.  She is Three years old and full of energy.  If you would like to see pictures of both Doberman just click on there names on the Doberman Pinscher Index Page.

If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me.
