John III fought in the Revolutionary War.
According to his pension application he was born in Frederick Co., Maryland. The pension was filed in White Co., TN in 1833. He was living in Fauquier Co., VA each time he was called to service. After the war he went ot Patrick Co., VA and from there he moved to Knox Co., TN and later to White Co., TN where he lived for 25 years.
