Mariah had a son Amos Arter Beeny born Sept. 17, 1860. No record of who his farther was. Presumably he was born out of wedlock. Mariah and Amos lived with John and his first wife for a while before "Gincy" died.
The back of his stone at the Clayton Family Cemetery states "Private in Adam R. JOHNSON's Partisan Rangers of the Confederate Army."
Probrably died young. Most likely named Vanderveer for Dianah's father.
