William & Margaret Glenn Griffin;Wilkes County Library;will lists children
Notes: Victoria Proctor sent me a copy of this note:
The source for my information on Ithamar and Thomas is a written account by
Charity Rachel Gaddy Lane (1846-1931. It is entitled, "Charity R. Gaddy
Lane. What I know and what my parents told me." Her parents were Hardy
Gaddy and Winifred Humphrey. Hardy was Ithamar's third son and fourth
child. Here's the passage. (Dan Sullivan has a copy of the account.)
"My grandfather was Ithmar Gaddy. He had an older brother named
Thomas. They came from about Tar River to Robeson County, N.C., after the
Revolution. My grandfather's brother Thomas fought through the Revolution. He
had a friend. They fought side by side and his friend was killed at the last
battle. My grandfather came to Robeson County, some where about Fairmont. He
met up with Charity Pitman and married her. Then they settled in Marion County
S.C. near the Robeson County line. My grandfather's brother, Thomas, settled
in Anson County N.C. or somewhere near Anson County. Don't know who he
married. ..."
