Just who am I?
My wife Nancy and I have a son and daughter, Steve and Kathleen
and 5 grandkids. 4 of the grandkids are Steve's and the newest granddaughter
is Kathleen's first child. Besides my family, church and playing my guitar and clarinet I enjoy canoeing the Santa Fe River in North Florida and as my daughter says, messing up the computer. I was born in Butler, Pa. Raised in North Miami Beach, Fl. Graduated from Miami Norland High School, attended Miami Dade Jr. College. Nancy and I married in 1969. I spent 2 useless years in the Army. But I did get to see Germany. In the mid 70's , we moved to Gainesville, Fl. I become very involved with the Boy Scouts. I was a Webelos Scout Leader for Pack 83, District Cub Scout Roundtable staff and Cub Scout Leader Training staff. Scoutmaster of Troop 202, Boy Scout Leader Training staff (SMF), District Eagle Board, merit badge counselor and BSA Lifeguard counselor. I was a member of the OA (Order of the Arrow). A Girl Scout Co-Leader Troop 147. Not all at the same time. I started with the Cub Scouts and ended with the Girl Scouts. I was a member of the School Advisory Council at Howard Bishop Middle School and Band Boosters at Gainesville High School. I am very committed to the development and safety of children. In August, 2000 I enrolled at Santa Fe Community College and 3 years later I graduated with Honors with an A.S. Degree in Computer Information Technology.
An Hour of Your Time Daddy how much do you make an hour? With a timid voice and idolizing eyes, the little boy greeted his father as he returned from work. Greatly surprised, but giving his boy a glaring look, the father said: Look, sonny, not even your mother knows that. Don't bother me now I'm tired. But Daddy, just tell me please! How much do you make an
hour, the boy insisted. Okay, Daddy. Could you loan me ten dollars? the boy asked. Showing his restlessness and positively disturbed, the father yelled: So that was the reason you asked how much I earn, right? Go to sleep and don't bother me anymore! It was already dark and the father was meditating on what he said and was feeling guilty. Maybe he thought, his son wanted to buy something. Finally, trying to ease his mind, the father went to his son's room. Are you asleep son? asked the father. No, Daddy. Why? replied the boy partially asleep Here's the money you asked for earlier, the father said. Thanks, Daddy! rejoiced the son while putting his hand under his pillow and removing some money. Now I have enough! Now I have twenty dollars! The boy said to his father, who was gazing at his son, confused at what his son had just said. Daddy, could you sell me one hour of your time. Our children are our future get involved in your child's education. Support school programs, get involve with S.A.C. and P.T.A. Take time for your children.
