Exhibit C to Brief on Equity

There are two News-Press pieces in exhibit C but the guard failed to copy them so I will discuss them.

The first is about a kindergarten teacher, Karin Davis, who was arrested in her kindergarten class and taken out through her classroom window by the police and charged with stalking. 5/20/94, News-Press.

The other is a mailbag letter on 9/18/94 entitled "Law Makes Gun Illegal". I will quote all of it: "This is to all of you who favor the recently passed crime bill, complete with assault weapon ban. I guess I will be a felon, as I own a 9-millimeter semi-automatic pistol, which I purchased for personal protection."

"The gun itself is not an assault weapon, nor are the bullets; however, the magazine holds 14 rounds and therein lies the problem. You see, any magazine that holds over 10 rounds has now been defined as an assault weapon. I have no intention of turning this gun or magazine over to anyone, nor of modifying the magazine."

"So here I stand, never accused of anything more serious than a traffic violation and now a federal felon. My only hope is that if they come after me, they will have to let a murdering rapist loose in your neighborhood to make room for me in prison."

"After all, I want you to feel safe with your new assault weapons ban."
