I started this company from my living room around May of 1996. My best friend has his own software company called Zarphnoid Software and he let me join it.

Our main programs were for ourselves, and every now and then we would write one for a college student or two. I had fun doing that and decided to start my own company. Little did I know how hard it can be to choose a name for a software company.

To be honest, I really don't know where I got the name ShroomTrip from, save that I was pretty tired.

Originally, it was ShroomTrip Software LTD, but I got tired of typing LTD in all caps so I dropped it.

I have recently changed the name to EarthDrake, since our products are fantasy related, and ShroomTrip doesn't describe the right kind of fantasy ;D.

I thought that this would be a simple pastime for me, and that all programs I wrote would be for my benefit. That's exactly how it was until I signed up to the Dragonlance Mailing List.

I decided to let everyone on there know I had a program I had written that would help out a lot of them. I figured everyone would want a copy, and I wouldn't hear too much about it. I was wrong again. The positive responses were overwhelming. And the feedback I got was very helpful. I also recieved a lot of requests to make a second program, which I did. Again, everyone loved it and wanted a third program. That one never got finished. When I got a new computer, the source got lost.

As of this point and time, the only programs I have written are for TSR, Inc's Dragonlance 5th Age SAGA System and Seth Able's L.O.R.D./L.O.R.D. ][ door games.

In 1998, I started offering to create Start Up & Shut Down screens for Win9x, and as of approximatly July 1999, I started ROM Hacking. Those are about the only "new" things added to the EDS family.
