Reading Goals

gfrogs

During the first term all students will have the same goals, since I do not really know them yet. The goals will be to bring a book every day, learn workshop procedures, maintain their journals, and read an award-winning book. Beginning the second term and in succeeding terms, students will set individual goals, with parent and teacher input. All goals should be listed on their GOALS SET/GOALS MET sheet. We have discussed how each goal will be evaluated, and those with * next to them require a parent note or verification.

Each term the students must read a specific genre for their booktalks and to meet one of the four goals. The specific genres by term are:

You can find out more about each of these by going to the Links Page and clicking on the genre which interests you.

All goals must be completed by the date indicated on the Keeping Track Sheet. Each student, with parent and teacher input, will set individual goals for the next term .

If you did not have a goal conference last term, you still need to meet with me and set goals for this next term. See me ASAP!
