1. RULES

The regatta will be governed by the 1997-2000 ISAF Racing Rules, the prescriptions of US Sailing, the ISSA Procedural Rules, this Notice of Race (except as altered by the Sailing Instructions), and the Sailing Instructions.

2. CLASSES

Collegiate 420s will be provided.

3. ELIGIBILITY

All competitors must complete and submit the waiver forms as well as appropriate registration forms. These forms must be received by the regatta chair in advance of Dec 3rd.

4. ENTRY AND COMMUNICATIONS

Eligible sailors must enter by filling out an official entry form from Ransom Everglades School. A single school may enter more than one team but should fill out a separate entry form for each team.

5. ENTRY FEE

There is no entry fee for this regatta.

6. BOAT DAMAGE DEPOSIT

Each team must provide a $100 fully refundable boat damage deposit.

7. SCHEDULE (tentative)

0830 Chalk talk: boat handling and speed tips in 420s. Provided for new competitors in the class.

0915 Rigging 420s at Harry H. Anderson Jr. Sailing Center (Ransom Waterfront)

0945 Skippers’ Meeting

1000 Harbor start

***Lunch on the water: competitors must bring their own lunches.

8. RACE AND RANSOM EVERGLADES UPPER SCHOOL LOCATION

The regatta will be held on north Biscayne Bay south and east of the entrance to Dinner Key Channel.

The Ransom Everglades Upper School is approximately 20 minutes from Miami International Airport and lies on the waterfront of Coconut Grove just south of Dinner Key.

Detailed directions to Ransom Everglades Upper School are available from the regatta coordinator.

9. COURSES

The Race Committee will determine course designs before each day of racing. The Sailing Instructions will detail possible course options.

10. SCORING

The regatta will be scored according to ISSA Procedural Rules.

11. HOUSING

Housing is available in area hotels, if necessary. Contact the regatta chair.

12. FOOD

Competing schools must provide their own lunches. Water will be available on the rotation dock.

13. COACHING

Team coaches, chaperones, leaders and other support personnel may not go afloat in the racing area between 7am and 7pm on racing days except in vessels provided or designated by Ransom Everglades School.
