1998 : Original ??" x ??"
This piece is my attempt at something like mixed media, done about 1989. This is a hand-tinted photocopy (2 pieces joined together) of George, silhouetted onto a background pasted with cut up construction paper and other elements together on poster board to match the graphics on one of his ESP Kamakaze guitars. I drew the Japanese calligraphy from his guitar, cut that out and pasted it on as well. The photo of the pilot is from an encyclopedia which I took into Photoshop and finagled to make it color - more sepia tone, old-looking. Then I printed the photo out on a color proofer and cut it out and pasted it into the poster. I drew some quick bomb graphics, cut and pasted them too. George is one of my favorite musicians, period.
