Brian Stelfreeze
Brian was a fixture at all the Atlanta comic cons, which is where I
first saw him. He caught my eye with his stylish work on the independent
book, Cycops. That work got him many favorable reviews comparing
his work to Walt Simonson's. I guess a lot of that hinged on the
angularity in his figures because if you look at his work, he has a style
all of his own. If you examine his most recent work, he has a unique
eye for spotting blacks. He has been highly influential on his
studiomates at Atlanta's Gaijin Studios.
- Storm color illustration:
I got this from Brian before he started doing a lot of work for DC and Marvel
Comics. I asked for a drawing of Storm because he had some color copies
of a terrific airbrush painting of her that really knocked me out. Needless
to say, I was very happy with the result. I even asked his studiomate,
Karl Story, to add some color to the piece which turned out great.
