My To Do Page

In constructing my homepage, I've spent some time pondering the goal of what to do for content. I've read plenty about the "I'm me, here's my cat" concern of brainless homepages that are done 'because I can.' But I feel that the most pertinent format for me to apply is that of the personal journal. Mind you, a journal that can be read by the whole planet. My humble purpose is to present the mundanities of my life in a style as interesting as possible, in a format as original as I can manage. (Not using that bloody yellow roadwork sign is my first installment on this promise)

September 24, 1996--I thought I'd note that I am purposely aiming my writing at Netscape 2.0 as this is the benchmark web browser. Because this home page is intended largely for entertainment, as well as developing my web skills, I do not feel obliged to consider more subtle problems of browser compatibility. If I actually get around to providing semi-vital information here, I promise to work on parallel text-only pages and work-arounds for browsers that do not support Netscape-only features. (No frames, promise.)

June 6, 1996

Added height and width statements to all graphics. This allows Netscape to lay out text immediately rather than waiting for graphic images to load.

Added picture of me in tux. More background on Sarns Machine.

July 31, 1996

Did some tweaking through July, slightly expanded Sarns Machine references.

Major work today involved adding a page about my brother, and a new picture of my sister's wolf Raven. Updated links on Screaming Viking Mead.

September 18, 1996

Put up my sample portfolio. Adjusted relevant links.

September 19, 1996

Added location names and target links to portfolio samples in order to return the viewer to original link positions.

September 24, 1996

Added page on my mom.
