The following should be stored in an easily portable container near the exit to your home.
Food.
q Five or more days supply of food in small cans or water proof containers
q Disposable bowls or paper plates
q Can opener (optional)
q Disposable spoons (optional)
q Can lid (optional)
Water.
q Seven or more days supply of water
q Unbreakable bowl or bottle
q Pre-moistened cleaning cloths
Shelter.
q Crate or cage (open design for air circulation preferred)
q Blanket or bedding material
q Newspaper or potty pads or a plastic tarp to put under the crate/cage
q List of the local hotels that accept pets

q Batteries for above (optional)
q Crate cover or extra blanket (optional)
Exercise.
q Collar or harness or flight suit
q Leash
q Toy or chewies
q Waste bags
q Newspaper or potty pads (optional depending on type of pet)
q Rolled up newspaper post (optional for male dogs)
q Litter box (optional depending on type of pet)
q Litter (optional depending on type of pet)
q Litter scoop (optional depending on type of pet)
Vet care.
q First aid kit
q Copy of last vet check-up in a waterproof bag
q Copy of last annual vaccinations in a waterproof bag (optional depending on type of pet)
q Flea preventative (optional depending on type of pet)
q Heartworm preventative (optional depending on type of pet)
q Seven days supply of vitamins (optional depending on type of pet)
q Seven days supply of current medications (pin a note to the outside of the pack to remind you to grab these since they may not be pre-packed)
q Rescue Remedy or other stress relief (optional)
Grooming.
q Comb or brush

Love.
q Picture of your pet and you in a waterproof bag
q Special care instructions in a waterproof bag
q Pre-made “Lost” poster
q Copy of identification certification (microchip, tattoo, etc.) in a waterproof bag (optional)
q Roll of electrical tape (can be used as an emergency muzzle or to hang lost posters)
