Christian Music For Sale

Chrisitian Music For Sale

I've found a few places to buy some of that hard to find Christian music, and some used stuff that helps curb the prices of this music. Below you will find my basic "Reviews" of these companies, and how to get in touch with them.

Keep in mind, I'm trying to really focus on used music, because there are a ton of used music stores in my town, but none have Christian music. This is an attempt to give you a resource for finding both hard to find music, and low price music. Let's face it paying $15.99 for a cd gets old when you can buy just about ANY new secular band's music for $10.99-$12.99. Enjoy.

WOW I'm really impressed with this one. They are called Rose Records and they've got a very good selection of all types of music. What is really nice is how they have classified everything into it's own sub-directory. So you can focus on metal if you like or check out their other stuff.

Their trade policy is simple enough, you send them a list of stuff you want to trade and what you would like to get in trade amount and they either agree or make a counter offer. This is an excellent way of handling it because the flat rate system just doesn't work well. 4 bucks for one CD may be ok in trade amount if it's say a CD by The Blamed that you can still get your hands on but it's not right for a Horde CD!

Shipping rates are easy enough...$2.00 first item and $0.60 each additional. Check this place out NOW!

Here is the info on the company.

777 MusicHere is a GREAT Company, with a large stock of CD's both new and used, cassettes new and used, and vinyl. Although they don't have merchandise like Cross Rythms, if your looking for music at a great price this is the place for you. Average prices of used stuff is going to run about $10.00 with the highest I saw at about $25. They have some really nice rare out of print stuff for these highly REASONABLE (take note RadRockers) prices!!

Beyond fair prices, they have about the BEST shipping rates I've seen. $2.00 for the 1st item and $1.00 for each additional. LP's are slightly different. If you want 1 LP it's $3.00. Multiple LP's are $2.00 for 1st, $0.75 for each additional.

What can make this better? They don't ask you to beg them to take your old CD's, they say to just send in your unwanted CD's and they will give you credit. This sounds like they will take ANY CD's. Most trade in values are $4-$5 per CD. Of course you can e-mail them with a list and they will give you quote as well.

Here is one of my favorite company to work with. This one is called Greatful Fred Music, and they have some really good prices. They offer a free catalog for the asking, and you can ask here. This place has redone their entire system since I first reviewed them and it's an improvement, so they go up to a 9.5 from the 9 they were at. The major increase is the website!! Yes you can still get a printed catalog for the asking, so if you want it get it but the website and e-mailng list keeps you updated much better, and is less expensive for Fred, so do that if you can. Shipping is is 3 bucks for one item, 4 bucks for $20+ and 5 bucks for $21-$50 and if youspend more than $50 it's FREE! BARGIN!! this is the other factor that improved their rating. They have a "Bargin Bin" where you may find something you would like. However their stock is large enough you will most likely find $50 worth of stuff you want and get that free shipping. Check them out!

This next one is a Finnish Company, called Little Rose. The owner is none other than Manu the bass player of Deuteronomium. They sell both new and used CDs and have a realy great selection to choose from. The entire site is however in Finnish and I really don't understand their currency system. SO I can't judge them on the prices. At any rate this is something those of you in Europe should probably check into if you can read the language.

Next is Wishing Well Entertainment. This is company I reviewed earlier, and since that time they have improved their system to include the much appreciated WEB PAGE! Whats more, it's updated twice a month for accuracy. This company offers a wide range of secular music as well as a good assortment of Christian material. If you prefer you can get a catalog mailed to. Although they REQUIRE you to call in and reserve the items you want they have NOW do their searches full time, and they tell me that there is someone there answering the phones full time. You can also reserve items by e-mail, but if it were me, I would certainly wait for a verification before I sent my money off. I'd hate to be told that the same day I sent my e-mail someone else called in and got the item I wanted. Their prices are a bit higher than Grateful Fred, but still very reasonable. Their shipping rates are a bit high, being as the send everything UPS, so this kind of adjusts their low prices. These guys deal in it all, CD's, tapes, videos, vinyl, everything. Check 'em out.

Here we have Rock Revival, and this is a really good one to check out. With a nice catalog that contains a very good selection of CD title. Prices are excellent with many titles running in the $7 to $9 dollar range. Only a handful of titles are over $14, and the average would be about $11-$12. Shipping charges are $3.50 per order no matter how much you order. The catalog costs $1, but is well worth your buck. If you order you get the next catalog free. Check out Rock Revival.

Next is The Christian Music Exchange that has ups and downs. The biggest up is the super large amount of product. Although only a few bands that I'm interested most people will find something they like for sure. Next up is the ability to get CASH not credit for you CD's something new at least. The hold for 7 days, and take the holds via e-mail. They also have a webpage (which by now you know I like, and greatly helped this companies overall rating) which includes a printable order form.

Now the downs. Prices are only Okay, with rare things being Bid upon. This bid proceedure can go both ways obviously you can get a good deal or get bid out of your budget. If you want to be notified of a particular item when they receive it, it COSTS $0.50 per item. This is rediculous, when a simply database can be setup to handle this, and only add about 10 seconds work everytime they get a new CD, if that. Finally their shipping is not all that great. $4.00 for you first 20 items. Now if you order 20 that's a good deal, but I only found 1 item that was priced okay UNTIL I add teh 4 bucks to ship it. With priority mail allowing people to ship up to 2 pounds for 3 bucks this is uncalled for. Oh, and the text on the webpage is annoyingly small. Here is the scoup:

Underground 5-0-1 has a pretty large selection, but they don't have any used material. Still their prices are pretty darn good for new material. Prices are around $10-$12 for all new stuff, whichis cheaper than you can get in a retail store usually. Again they have a large selection and specialize in "music for the youth."

Rock Solid has a really slick looking website and a lot of music to choose from. Nice layout easily navigated webpage. Artists broken down alphabetically, and they have a New Arrivals section for the surfer who is on their page a lot. Shipping charges a bit steep for the first item at $4.00 but each additional is only $0.75. They've got a lot of rare and out of print stuff. Their pricing seems a good bit high butnot as bad as RadRockers. I saw both the 7th Angel CDs on their site for $50 each, whereas RadRockers has them listed at $85, and $100. If your desperate for something check them out, if you just want to find something you may want to look elsewhere.

Last and probably the most well known is RadRockers. This is the one that I like least of all. This company has a homepage with its own domain, and their entire catalog online. This makes the easily accessible. They have some really good prices on stuff you don't want like CD's as low as $2.00, and Cassettes as low as $1.00, but then some of the music you do want is as high as $80.00 for a single CD with the average probably in the $20-$25 range. There is also an incredibly unjustified imbalance between the cost of tapes and CD's. Examples:

Adam Again-Homeboys:
Tape $2.50, CD $16.00

Mortification-Post Momentary Affliction:
Tape $5.50, CD $17.00

And these are considered their "Bargain Blowouts" sure the tapes are great prices, but the CD's, I don't know.

I have scanned their catalog, and found several item that are considered rare items that are not opened at very high prices. I understand that due to them being unopened and the fact that they are rare causes this, but I'm interested in buying CD's so I can listen to them and not worry about a scratch on the jewel case. They advertise Living Sacrifice on their webpage, Heaven's Metal ad, and back of their catalog as being $7.00 for Inhabit, but then for the untitled CD, and for Non-Existent its $24.00. This is unacceptable when Grateful Fred Music sells these same items for $9.99, and $11.99 respectively. (BTW The $11.99 is in an unopened case from GFM.) Ok, so you can deal with this, and you want to buy some of the decent tapes you can get through RadRockers that they sell for $3-$5, guess what? There is a minimum of $25.00 per order. AND the shipping charges go up, not on the total of your order, but by the number of items. So if you want to order some of those cheapie tape your gonna get rooked in the shipping charges. Shipping charges go up to $8.50 4th class for 21 and over items, which is not available in 1st class. 11-15 items 1st class is $10.00. UPS charges are available.

There are some up sides to RadRockers. They have a HUGE selection. You are almost assured to find what your looking for, if you can afford it. Availability, when I called I talked to a PERSON not a machine, and their webpage again has their entire stock online. Free catalog, just ask for it you get 2 copies if you don't order after the second you get no more.

So if your a collector, and are looking for really rare stuff, this is okay, but for the person (like myself) who is wanting to listen to music, you will probably want to pass.

Well that's the lot of them. If you know of company that sell used Christian music and you want me to check them out, Send me their information. If you are a company, and are worried that you will get a negative review, well then you probably need to review you basic system, and possibly initiate a change. I know that a lot of you are doing this as a hobby, or as a second income, but this webpage is setup to help the Christian music buyer.

In conclusion, I would like to say that these reviews are my opinons, and mine alone. I'm sure there are people out there who feel I'm wrong, but then that's their (or your) opinon. I am simply trying to relate MY experiences with these companies to you so you can benefit from them.
