Welcome to
Cyber-Seuss
Welcome to a new, and I hope fun, and useful section of Cyber-Seuss. The Cross-Word Search Puzzles! Before we get much more into this entire Cross-Word Search thing, let me tell you why its here. Before I got my license with Dr. Seuss Enterprises Inc. I had many online stories, but being as that was a direct copright infringment, they had to be removed. Along with them leaving went much of the content I had for kids. I was left with very little for kids other than links. I wanted something, and this is what I came up with.

These started out being Dr. Seuss related cross word puzzles, but some people suggested that cross word puzzles may be too difficult for some younger audiences. So I thought about doing straight word search puzzles, but I didn't think that was quite right either. So I took the best of both worlds, and offer to you Cross-Words Search puzzles. Here is the deal.

You are given a set of questions like those from cross word puzzles, whose answers are hidden in a grid of letters like word search puzzles. So if you can not figure out the answer it is possible to find them in the puzzle, and plug them into the blank.

So far these puzzles are broken down into 3 difficulty levels as such:

Level 1 ----- Easy Level 1 is the easiest of the levels. The questions are mostly made up of Dr. Seuss story titles, and the grid is only 10x10. There are no backwards words and only 10 questions. This one should be easily completed by most kids who can do normal word search puzzles.

Level 2 ----- Meduim Level 2 takes a step up, with a 15x15 grid, and 15 questions. This time the questions are more difficult, with most being characters from Dr. Seuss books. Kids who have a working familiarity with Dr. Seuss books will be able to make it though this one no problem. These have more diagonal words, and some backwards words.

Level 3 ----- Difficult This is the crown jewel, of the Cross-Word Searches. This one if for the BIG-TIME Dr. Seuss fans. You will have to know quite a bit about the man and his works, both childrens literature, and others. This is a 20x20 grid, with 24 questions ranging from every aspect of his life. Consider yourself a Seuss-guru if you finish this level. Puzzle wise, these have more backwards and diagonal words.

From testing this item on others, I found it is easiest to just go ahead, and print the page once it loads, and do the Cross-Word Search on paper. Teachers, are free to print, and duplicate these for use in the classroom.

Sorry Puzzle B level 3 is not yet available

There is also a Dr. Seuss Cross-Word Puzzle. It requires a graphical browser, and is very simple. The nice feature is each clue links to a direct clue to the answer.

The following pages are all text pages. There was a site online that had a Dr. Seuss word search game, but the game was an image. It took way too long to load, and when you consider many schools do use text based browsers, this limited the usage base. With text pages, everyone can have fun, and no one has to wait for the page to load.
