  SS Nose Repair Pix

Here is the front end torn down. The fender, bumper, bumper shock, and headlight assembly were toast. The core support is bent, but at $298 from the dealer, I'll straighten that out. One nice thing about the front fascia is that is pops back into shape. It is pretty scuffed and will probably need replacing though.

Get rid of that SS nose and it doesn't look too great, does it? Removing the shroud without moving the radiator and AC condensor takes a lot of patience as some of the bolt heads are facing the rear of the car in the lower corners. No problem, just get out the wrench and turn it 1/4 turn 100 times.

Here's what it looks like with the fender gone. Good time to access those pesky vacuum lines to the ventilation controls.

Here is a close up of the radiator shroud mount. As you can see, the impact pushed the shroud back an inch or so. No problem, just unbolt it, move it back and tighten it down. The frame end is also bent up a little. Not bad though, I can take a hammer and straighten it back out.

Here is the originally blue right front fender after stripping and scraping.
