- Internment card of Sarah Powell Clarke:

o Between back cover and last page of the Lydia Smith Bible was
slipped a funeral notice on a white card with black trim - with
     very beautifil "doily-like" designs:

                              In Memory Of
                           SARAH POWELL SCOTT
Relict of the late William Scott, of Port Glasgow, and eldest daughter
of the late Henry E. Clarke, of H.M. Customs, Greenock,
Who Departed this Life March 15, 1864,
                             AGED 61 YEARS,
And was interred at Lower Bebington Church, March 20th, 1864.

So, evidently, Sarah was the sister of Lydia Smith's mother (or so I
gather), since, on the back of the card, barely legible, were scrib-
  bled the words:

                                        "Grammy Smith's
                                         sister --"
