I would like to wish all the members of Chapter 1016 a Happy New Year. It looks like we made it from 1999 to the year 2000 without too many problems. I enjoyed watching the coverage of the celebrations from around the world.

Several members of our chapter have submitted documentation to National for the President’s Award 2000. The President’s Award will be given for the most creative and effective activity that demonstrates how chapters and specialty assemblies reflect 50 Years of Magic, Partners in Care by promoting efforts to increase the ranks of perioperative nursing. Thanks to everyone who participated.

National will be sending me information about students who are interested in perioperative nursing from the National Student Nurses’ Association. We will be contacting them to invite them to our chapter meetings. If you know of any student nurse that is interested in participating please let a chapter officer know, or just bring them to a meeting.

For a donation of $20.00 to the Foundation, you will become a member of the Millennium Club and receive a commemorative pin. The pins are available by calling the Foundation office at 303-755-6304 x366.

Scholarship applications for the fall 2000 funding period have been revised and can be obtained from the Foundation office. The deadline for submitting your application is April 2000.
