President’s Message
October, 2001

October finds our chapter in a whirl of activity. We are only a few weeks away from our fall golf outing on Nov. 10^th at Ocala Palms, just west of I-75 on US 27. We will gather for registration with coffee and doughnuts, tee off at 0900 with a scramble start, and finish in the clubhouse for a deli-style lunch and awards, all for $240.00 per foursome. It is my understanding from Nan Hanauer, our chairperson, that we need volunteers of all kinds to help with the many aspects of the golf event. We need everyone involved. This is the major fundraiser of the year, and if we are to send delegates to congress in Anaheim this must succeed. We need to contact Nan Hanauer at (352) 288-9578 (home) right now to volunteer. Nan is sitting by the phone waiting for your call. We don’t want tears now, do we?

Speaking of Nan, we represented our chapter as delegates to FCORN fall meeting in Coconut Grove, Miami, October 5-7. We had a super meeting with a nursing industry round table, board meetings, industry exhibits, and wonderful speakers on interesting topics. FCORN is planning a lobby day in Tallahassee. More to come in the future. As usual, chairman Tom Macheski did a superb job of running the board meetings.

National is sending out registration and hotel accommodation requests for congress 2002 in Anaheim, CA. Let me reiterate that funding for congress will come directly from the fall golf outing. We are powerless with an empty treasury. Nan is waiting for your call. You know what you must do. Peace
