Chapter 1016 Board Meeting
March 4, 2000

Members Present : J.North, J.Shelley S.Reitman-Swiss, P.Stewart, S.Moore
Unfinished Business:
1. N.Hamby will be sending revised by-laws to members in a separate mailing.
2. P.Stewart will fill out paper work and file for Florida State tax number; we
are not covered under Florida Council of Operating Room Nurses.
3. E.Hoffman will be presenting list of names of new members for mentoring
at March meeting .
4. T.Macheski will be contacting student nurses who have expressed interest
in OR.
5. S.Reitman-Swiss will be contacting E.Hoffman about installation dinner
location.
6. S.Reitman-Swiss sent letter to J.DeFrancesco, NLC state coordinator, to
state our support of CRNFA. S.Reitman-Swiss will send letters to legislators.
New Business:
1. By-Laws with revisions will be mailed to National Headquarters .
2. Chapter standards and policies will be added to notebook with info that
will be available at meetings for members and will passed each year to new
president. Notebook contains National Chapter Accountability Standards.
3. Policy will be written concerning 1 yr membership scholarship to be
awarded to senior nursing student or RN with less than 1 year in OR.
4. Chapter survey will be placed in newsletter and on website .
5. Chapters are encouraged to nominate people for national offices. The
nominee does not have to be in our chapter.
6. Time will be given during monthly chapter meetings do discuss clinical
issues in individuals work place and job availability .
7. AORN national awards- Letter to presented at chapter meeting with
questions.Copies will be made available.
8. Delegates and alternates must have current AORN membership
9. Policy changes for funding and responsibilities of delegates and
alternates to national convention- delegates should be part of fund raising
in year preceding convention; delegates must present at the meeting following
convention and write a short article for newsletter about an educational
session or business meeting attended.
10. There will be a board meeting after the election of new officers which
will include new and outgoing members. This will help facilitate a smooth
transition.
11. Chapter Historical committee will keep records of names of officers and
committee chairs,their addresses, and when they served.
12. Board will suggest to newsletter editor that an AORN standard be
highlighted every month in newsletter; that newsletter be e-mailed to those
who have e-mail; names of member ambassadors and their place of employment be
listed in newsletter.
13. CNOR will be recognized in chapter meeting.
