Minutes of the November 17, 2005 Meeting
Program: The program presented was Plastic Surgery,
Minimally Invasive to Body Contouring: Dr. N. Nijher,
Aesthetic Center for Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery.
Business Meeting: Meeting was called to order at 2030. Thank
you to Aesthetic Center for hosting the meeting and to
Dr. Nijher for speaking..
Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes:
Minutes from the prior meeting were approved.
Treasurers’ Report:
Report submitted. October balance was $5719.82..
Old Business: A
discussion was held regarding the Christmas Family that the Chapter has decided
to sponsor. The family was selected from the Rape Crisis Center.
There are three children and a mother. The family was divided up between MRMC,
ORMC, WMCH and the VA/with other smaller facilities. Each facility (or facility
group) will take a child and the mother will be taken care of by the VA/smaller
facilities. Kathy Brown needs as monies by December 15, 2005. She will fax all
necessary information to facilities that need it so that they can begin
collecting money.
The Florida
Council meeting, which is to be hosted by the Gainesville Chapter, was discussed. It was
decided to investigate hotels in the Ocala
area for the meeting, which is tentatively planned for July. In the past,
Friday night has been a reception with an Industry Round table. Saturday has
had two morning sessions and two afternoon sessions, with a luncheon. Saturday
evening dinner has been “on your own”. Sunday morning, the Council has held
another session with the meeting ending by Sunday afternoon. At this point, the
theme is that of robotic surgery. The members present felt that investigation
of the Hilton in Ocala
should be done.
New Business: A quorum was not present.

The next meeting will be held in Gainesville,
at the VA Hospital.
