Business Meeting Minutes

1. Meeting called to order by P.Stewart at 8:05 PM

2. Mins. from Nov. meeting was approved as written in Dec. newsletter.

3. Financial report: Checking balance- 5360.12 Savings balance 2625.53

4. Committee Reports:

A. Membership/Education- Tom and Camille inducted to honor society

B. Legislative - S.Rietman-Swiss reported nothing received from National Legislative Committee.P.Stewart gave S.Reitman-Swiss Chapter Membership Legislative Handbook.

C. Research - L.Pitman had nothing to report

D. Nominating - S.Reitman-Swiss reported committee has not started working; will have slate of officers by April

E. Newsletter - No report

F. Web-page - T.Glover reported web page address www.afn.org/~afn06072 and for the FCORN Web Page: www.afn.org/~fcorn

G. Historian - No report

Old Business

  1. T-Shirts - S.Reitman-Swiss requested each hospital notify her of number needed
  2. New certificates for contact hours have been printed
  3. Chapter wishes to thank Sue Moore for opening her home for the chapter Christmas party

New Business

  1. Paper work for Presidents award 2000 has been submitted
  2. Habitat for Humanity - Membership is requested to contact their hospitals and donations given during meetings will be contributed, instead of money from checking
  3. Chapter challenge - Money from checking will be sent to AORN to support foundation
  4. Chapter mentoring program - Eunice will send info to TGlover to print on web page
  5. Board agreed to not charge chapter dues to student nurses who would like to join our chapter. National gives them a reduction on dues.
  6. Our Feb. 17,2000 meeting will be held at Ayers in G'ville. The speaker will speak on Parliamentary Procedure. Due to a charge, members are to request donations from reps to set up funds for paying speakers.
  7. Student nurse membership - List of names of student nurses who have shown interest in AORN was given to T. Macheski, along with a form letter and Pamphlets
  8. S.Reitman-Swiss will locate a restaurant in G'ville for June installation dinner.
  9. Members are encouraged to read latest journal for info on candidates and issues and give questions for candidates and input as to how the membership would like for delegates to vote. Also give info on educational offerings to other staff who are unable to attend so that info can be brought back.
  10. Tom reported that application for CE provider number had been submitted. They have requested our policy and wanted a designated person for number. T.Macheski will be the designated person.
  11. The chapter thanked R.Jones, ORMC, for sponsoring this month's meeting.
