AORN CHAPTER 1016 NORTH CENTRAL FLORIDA
NOVEMBER BUSINESS MEETING
November 21, 2002
PROGRAM: Dr. Hudson Berry presented Extremity Reconstruction in Children with Sarcoma.
BUSINESS MEETING: was held at Shands at University of Florida. Wes Williams called the meeting to order at 8:35 PM. Wes thanked Shands at UF for hosting the meeting.
NEW ATTENDEES: In attendance was Gary Hanauer, visitor.
TREASURER REPORT: Eileen Nogueiras not present. Jim Shelley announced the chapter had fourteen teams play in the chapter golf tournament. Not all funds are in from the golf tournament.
QUORUM: not present; however President Wes Williams elected to proceed with non-voting issues.
MINUTES: deferred.
STANDING CONMMITTEE REPORTS: no reports.
SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS:
- Newsletter: Nan Hanauer announced she no longer would be able to be the editor of the chapter newsletter.
- Historian: vacant
- Web Site: no report.
- Nominating Committee: no report
BOARD OF DIRECTORS: no report.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
- Congress: Wes announced the chapter would send five delegates and two alternates to AORN Congress.
- Candle Fundraiser: Justine Busch distributed candles to members. The chapter received $178.00 from the $800.00 chapter order. The next order must be in by next Friday to receive candles by Christmas.
- T-shirts: the chapter will sell the remaining t-shirts for $5.00.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Chapter Christmas family: Eileen Nogueiras contacted the Spouse Abuse center in Ocala for a family. Jim Shelley gave handouts to the members present on the needs of the family. The Gainesville members had also adopted a family and a discussion was held about the Gainesville family.
- FCORN: our chapter will host the fall FCORN meeting held in Gainesville on October 17, 18, and 19, 2003. The meeting will be held at the Doubletree Hotel University Conference Center. Tom Macheski will be the coordinator for the speakers. Nan Hanauer will be coordinator for the hotel and reps. Justine Busch will be coordinator for the registration. Nan asked for volunteers for door prizes, brochure and food. Linda Sigsby stated we also need to provide programs specific to the needs and interests of student nurses.

PROFESSIONAL OPPORTUNITIES: none
NEXT MEETING: will be held January16, 2003 at ORMC in Ocala.
ADJOURNMENT: the meeting was adjourned by general consent at 9:15PM.
