Unlike the other first wave Transmetals, Optimus Primal did not appear in the "Aftermath" episode. It seems Megatron got a leg up on the Maximal leader. Optimus Primal shares the mechanical looks of other Transmetals, lacking the organic stylings of his previous form. Optimus Primal is one of two current Megas available in Transmetal form. Released with the first wave, he is still readily available. This may change when Scavenger, Depthcharger, and Rampage are released, each slated to be a Transmetal.
Optimus Primal loses much in this form, and even his massive stature is greatly reduced. New features have been added, but Primal seems to be a jumble of plastic. Not a bad figure, just more could have been done, as this is the Maximal leader! The figure itself is blue, purple and silver. He still retains some of his ape features, though most have been lost under much metal. A snow board has been added, giving Optimus Primal a contemporary edge. All in all, Primal is an average figure.
