Samworld's Shrine to the national champion Gators!!!

Well folks, it's official. The 1996 Florida Gator football team is #1 in the nation with a 12-1 record, and we all know how lucky those dagummit cheaters in Tallahassee were to win that one game, it's funny how they got creamed when we were almost healthy, makes one wonder what would've happened if Jeff Mitchell could've played. Maybe 66-20, or worse, hehehehe.

First off, we need to thank the man who put everything together for us fans. He's a man who truly needs no introduction. Ya bums in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee hate him because he knows how to kick butt and how to coach. The first Heisman winner to coach another player to the Heisman, the greatest Gator ever, and indeed Mr. Superior: Steven Orr Spurrier. He responded to his alma mater's SOS after the 1989 season and has led our beloved Gators to a 9-2, 10-2, 9-4, 11-2, 10-2-1, 12- 1 and 12-1 seasons in addition to 5 official SEC titles, 1 unofficial SEC title, and 1 illustrious national championship. Thanks for all the work coach, and we all look forward to the future under your brilliant leadership.

And how can we mention the 1996 Gators without word of the prodigal child, the winner of more awards than Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson, Dan Marino and Joe Montana combined. And, unlike Deon Sanders, he didn't need to cheat in class to stay in school. The 1996 Heisman Trophy Winner, superhero QB and all-around nice guy, our beloved Danny Wuerffel who even coached the South to a win in the Hula Bowl: we all know Bobby Bowden could't have called such cleaver plays. From the 23 yard TD pass to Chris Doering in the final seconds of the 1993 Kentucky game, to your 16 yard TD run in the Sugar Bowl, you have elated the hordes of Gator fans and help elevate the program to the top. Thanks Danny.

What can I say, Lawrence IS the man! Every time we needed a big hit (hello Joey Kent, have you recuperated yet) to a spectacular interception return for a TD (1994 sugar bowl vs. West Virginia) to a motivational, psych-you-up-to-kick-nole-but t speech, Lawrence Wright has always been there. He's been an impact on the field, he's been an impact off the field with his Wright-track program. Lawrence is one class act we will all miss dearly. Go kick some pro-footballers butts next year!!!

Don't ya just love the way this FSU player looks. It's a classic picture. One made in heaven. Don't you wonder what he's thinking, well actually what he would be thinking if he were ca pable of thought. If you do click on him and listen to his words of lackless-wisdom. And that's not all, click on the FSU logo to be connected to a hidden microphone in the Honor s Program classroom at Florida State University, uh Free Shoes University, oops I mean Florida Stomped Us.... What do you expect when your only famous alumni is obnoxious espn commentator Lee Corso, and philandering cheating crappy actor Burt Reynolds...< P>

Here are some images to remember:
