I am 40 today. I wrote Upon the Brink twenty plus years ago. It has always been there in the back of my mind, waiting to escape and claw its way into others minds. Here's its chance.
If you have trouble getting in to it or questions about Treme, read the following explanation.
I hope you enjoy my story. The "original" intent was to create a string of images that could be treated as a story, sort of like a dream. Dreams aren't always well defined, but a good dream will make you think. When you rerun your dreams by the light of day, you make comparisions with the real world. Treme in the story was what I thought of as a "bioprobe" among many bioprobes with the mission of creating an environment suitable to the growth of his creator(s). You can compare Treme with any creation of man, or any creation of those unknown to us(GOD). You can also compare Tre(me) to yourself and the struggle to not be alone, to truly connect with other people. The struggle to survive, but not only to survive but to prepare a place for those that come after.
The harmony you may have felt before you were born > The lonely struggle through life > The harmony you may feel after you are no more.
