            William HODGE and Elizabeth HUMPHREY are found in the 1850 Dooly County, Georgia census. William is listed as 41 years old, his occupation is listed as Blacksmith. Elizabeth is listed as 23 years old.  They have three children at the time, Briant (BRYANT) age 7, William J. age 2 and baby age one month.  They are listed next door to Pernilia HUMPHREY age 21, with two children, Elias age 5 and John age 6 months.
            William and Elizabeth moved their family to Alachua County, Florida before the 1860 census.  They are listed in the 1860 Alachua County census with six children, Bryant age 17, William J. age 12, Angeline age 10, Mary age 7, Charles age 5 and Alfred age 1.
