So today was a big disappointment.

The day started off not so good anyway, but then at the field I sucked it up big time. I did alright away from the field doing basic manuevers. The whole trip was very bumpy. There seemed to be an inordinate amount of drafts. I could not keep the plane smooth for the life of me...

So we get back to the airport and I made three really bad landings. I was all over the runway, too high, not level....I suppose it was because I was out of practice (having not flown for 2 weeks or so), but I was really bad.

After this I was supposed to go out and solo for three take offs and landings, but after Paul saw my performance....he "suggested" that I wait until next time and get a little more time before I solo.

He is exactly right and I'm only upset with myself and my really bad perfomance today, but it is a setback in my eyes. Oh well, next time...

In all we went out and did some stalls and practiced an emergency landing, then came back for touch-and-goes. Not a very exciting lesson at all.

What Paul said makes a little sense as to why I was so bad. He claims that because there was absolutely NO wind it was more difficult. Having no wind makes it so that there is no constant force to correct for and instead there are ever-changing gusts that cannot be predicted and thus corrected for.

I think I just suck!
