So I was supposed to have all that reading done.... Oh well.

It didn't really matter. Paul and I got into the air pretty quickly. We didn't do much new stuff or hard stuff or interesting stuff, but it was a good lesson. We primarily worked on landings again. Don't think that it is a bad thing either. I can really use the extra practice. While they aren't too bad, they certaily won't win a prize. Let me expand on this...

On two attempts in a row I had to complete a go-around, or an aborted landing. I was just too darn high. I came in on the runway probably 75 feet too high. As I kept tracking down the runway, I was still about 50 feet too high after half of the runway. After the second consecutive go-around, the tower started making wise cracks to us. Ha ha...

When we finally landed to a full stop, (I came in high, wouldn't you guess) we had to use 30 degrees flaps. We performed a short landing which constists of using the brakes very shortly after touchdown. We made a half turn on the runway and headed back to the terminal. It was pretty exciting.

Paul and I talked about the flight, and he commented that I was doing well. We scheduled a lesson for my solo flight. On the 22nd, I will get to the airport by 12 noon and Paul and I will go up together, then we'll land and then he'll send me up for some solo time. I'm already excited.
