As I got rained out last Thursday, I was feeling a little cold to the stick today. We got going after a quick preflight check by myself. As Gulf Atlantic has three 152's, I flew one today that I hadn't flown yet.,p> It is pretty amazing how different airplanes handle. All the differences are very subtle. The three planes are all the same model. They have the same structure, but the controls are adjusted slightly differnt. I usually fligh 59662, and today I flew 5403H. The throttle is a lot less sensitive and the rudder is very hard.

All these played a big part in my sucking today. All we did were touch-and-go's. We did something like 5 landings today. That part looks good in my logbook. I had my share of good ones and bad ones for sure! One landing in particular was really close to picture perfect, one other one was very acceptable, and then the others could use a lot of work!

I stalled once or twice on accident. I started to do a go around, but Paul said I had room to still land.

The whole process of landing is really a matter of experience and feel for it. I would easily compare it to pulling your mother's van into the garage for the first time. Gauging the distances between you and the side, between the car and the front wall, and between the car and where the door is going to close. While making a landing, the distance must be gauged to the ground and a glide path must be estimated.

I also took a quiz that tests me on the material I've read from the text book. Out of 50 questions, I may have gotten 45 but more likely got around 40 or so right. There was a lot of specific information on it. Granted, it is all important and I will know it all eventually, it is confusing and will be best learned from experience.
