ABOUT THE SHOW

"Sweet Polly's Lament" is a wild, raucous ride in the grand melodramatic tradition. There's dirty works afoot and things look downright turrible fer Sweet Polly and all the little Pureheart babes, Penny, Pansy, Poppy, Peggy and Penelope. Yah see, their parents done up and died in the great blizzard of... well, anyway they died. Sweet Polly has lost her own true love, and now Phineous, that low down, dirty rotten, not even very nice, scoundrel, is comin' ta takeaway the Last Chance Ranch!

So begins the heart wrenching tale of the musical melodrama, "Sweet Polly's Lament," The action builds from there with a host of hilarious characters and more woe, tragedy and despair than you can shake a stick at. In addition to Sweet Polly Pureheart, and all the little Pureheart babes, characters include, Noble, our hero, and his smart-mouthed Indian sidekick, Tootie, Rebecca Rose, a fast talking tomboy, and her gold-miner grandfather, Silas Weatherby, Red, our narrator, Phineous J. Philpot, the dastardly villian, and his not so bright henchmen, Terrible Ted, Dirty Bruce and Paco.
