2006 Rocky Mountain Vacation
Andy & Becky Adkins
July 4 - 10, 2006

Several months ago, we began planning a vacation, not really sure where we wanted to go, but feeling the need to go somewhere out of state, preferably in the cooler climate. We thought about several places, including Lake Tahoe, Canada, and a few other far off places. Andy mentioned one of the law professors had a place in Boulder, Colorado but wasn't sure if she rented it out. After a couple of emails, Christine indicated that their place was rented for the summer, but she provided a name of another friend of hers who might have one for rent. This person indicated they did, but the cabin didn't have any electricity or water. However, this person gave us the name and email of a friend of theirs who had a cabin near Estes Park. We contacted them and through a series of emails, including pictures of the cabin, we decided this was the place for us. Little did we know what we would encounter, aesthetically as well as spiritually.

The main purpose of this online journal is to share our experiences with family and friends. I've included some of the more spectacular (I use that word a lot throughout the journal) photographs we took. Thumbnail photos are embedded in the text - make sure you click on them to see a much larger photo. I've also included a complete photo gallery if you're disinclined to read the journal.
