What is CTS

CTS (Coordinated Transportation System) is a private, non-profit organization and the state designated specialized transportation coordinator for Alachua, Gilchrist and Levy counties. CTS arranges public door-to-door van and car service for those who cannot access or do not have regular bus service.

Alachua- Minibus (Monday- Friday, wheelchair and walk-on) and 24-Hour Services (walk-on, wheelchair & stretcher)

What do the services cost?

Alachua - Minibus $1.75/zone/person or $.35/ zone for TD. Zones are the Gainesville city limits, urbanized area & rural/non-urbanized area. 24-Hour Service $12/zone/person, plus an extra $12.00/trip IF special assistance is needed, or TD at $.75/zone, plus $.75/trip special assistance, if needed. Zones are the urbanized & non-urbanized areas. Out of county for Medicaid and full fare ($1.25/mile) only.

Gilchrist TCCSC - local travel is $5.25/trip or no-charge TD and to Gainesville $15.15/trip or no-charge TD. Gainesville service is offered on Tuesdays. Call CTS for local service schedule. 24-Hour Service is $20/county, plus $10/trip IF special assistance is needed, or TD at $2/county, plus $1/trip if special assistance is needed.

Levy - Same full fares as in Gilchrist County. The TD fare is no charge for eligible riders.

Who may ride with CTS?

Anyone. Our riders include: the general public, the elderly, those with a physical or mental disability and/or financial hardship.

MEDICAID RECIPIENTS
Transportation is provided by CTS and its subcontractors for eligible Medicaid clients for approved medical treatment. Advance reservations are encouraged. Medicaid numbers will be checked prior to operator assignment. If a clients number is not valid, the ride will be cancelled unless arrangements to pay the full fare have been made.

TRANSPORTATION DISADVANTAGED (TD) PROGRAM
State funds are available to offset the cost of transportation for those who, because of age, income or disability, cannot arrange or purchase their own transportation and are not eligible for other sponsored programs. Medicaid clients are eligible for TD assistance for trips other than medical trips. In all counties, other than Levy, the eligible TD rider pays between 10 and 25% of the actual cost. For instance, in Alachua County, door-to-door service on the city operated Minibus service is as little as 35 and 70 cents per person per one-way trip, depending on the length of the trip.

OTHER SPONSORED PROGRAMS

ALACHUA COUNTY
Senior citizens in Alachua County are provided 3 round trips per month, at no charge on the Minibus system through Santa Fe Community Care (SFCC). SFCC accepts advance reservations at 378-7311, between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., Monday - Friday.

GILCHRIST/LEVY
Tri-County Council for Senior Citizens provides general (local and Gainesville) and meal-site transportation for Gilchrist and Levy residents on scheduled days. Tuesday is Gainesville day. Call TCCSC at 493-7546, no later than 2:30 p.m. the day prior, for your reservation.
