Margaret (Pat) Korb, Ph.D., is Director and Co-Founder of the Gestalt Center of Gainesville. She has been working, training, learning in Gestalt therapy since 1970, and is the primary trainer on the staff. She is co-author of the text, Gestalt Therapy: Practice and Theory (Pergamon Press, 1989). Pat holds an M.A. in English and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, is listed in the Gestalt Directory, and is a founding member of the International Gestalt Therapy Association (IGTA).

Susan Cary has been a lawyer working with people affected by homicide – offenders, victims, families – since 1974. She is a member of the Victim-Offender Mediation Association, Murder Victims' Families for Reconciliation, and Parents of Murdered Children. She is also a Hospice volunteer. She was on the Board of Directors of the Elisabeth Kubler-Ross Center for several years until its closure in l995. She reads and reflects on issues of shame, atonement, repentance, forgiveness, wholeness. The ‘radical respect' tenet of Gestalt resonates in her own work. A Quaker, she has recently discovered Kwan Yin, Buddhist goddess of compassion.

Josie Davenport, L.M.T., L.C.S.W., began training in Gestalt in the early 1980's. As co-owner of the Florida School of Massage, with a joint career in bodywork and clinical social work, she has taught Gestalt-based communications skills and has led support groups for almost two decades including personal growth groups and hospice groups. With associates Korb, Korb, & Martin, she has recently co-authored the book, i-Contact: A Gestalt Guide to Skilled Communication (Gestalt Journal Press, 2007). Josie uses movement, meditation, and the creative arts to facilitate learning, awareness and change. As a hobby, she loves gardening and outdoor photography. Barry Frenchman, M.S., is a licensed mental health counselor and Gestalt therapist in private practice. He has trained with Pat Korb, Gertrude Krause, and Calvin Leonard. He has worked in a variety of human service settings with emphasis on addictions, sexual abuse, children's issues, and clinical supervision.

Ann Gill, L.M.T., L.C.S.W., trained in Gestalt Therapy since the early 1980's, is an associate member of the Gestalt Center and facilitates personal growth groups. She maintains an active private practice in Gainesville since 1984 in process-oriented Polarity/Massage therapy and offers weekly Hatha yoga classes as well as private yoga sessions. Her interests include healing of the heart through yoga, meditation, nutrition and group support.



Marybeth Hyer




John P. Korb has over 30 years of history in Gestalt therapy and theory. He formally joined the staff in 1995, is a training group facilitator, as well as editor, author and co-author of training materials and publications. He is a student of aikido, and hatha and kundalini yogas. With a life time background in visual arts, and as a chosen non-academician, he enjoys mentoring and tutoring individuals in a creative process-context. Nancy Lasseter, Ed.S., LMHC, has been in private practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for over 20 years. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety and depression using Mindfulness and is a trained instructor of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program. Alice Martin, Ph.D., Counselor Education, University of Florida, was first introduced to the Gestalt approach in 1976 in Seattle. She has trained with Pat Korb, Gertrude Krause, and Poldi Orlando. She is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and has been working with groups, couples, and individuals in private practice since 1985. Alice also has training in Clinical Hypnosis, Psychodrama, and Massage Therapy.

Brian Mistler, M.A., is finishing his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at the University of Florida. He recieved his Masters in Conflict Resolution from the University of Bradford, U.K, and is completing his doctoral internship at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia 2008-2009. Brian 'came home' to Gestalt when he began training with Dr. Pat Korb in 2003, and has since become an active Gestalt therapist, group facilitator, and member of the international Gestalt community. Brian specializes in anxiety, religion/spirituality (especially work with Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Jews, and Hindu/ISKCon), and the use of therapeutic humor and teaching parables. Ginnan Olmstead, A.P., L.M.T., started training in Gestalt Therapy in 1982. She has incorporated Gestalt techniques in her acupuncture and massage practice to balance the body-mind aspects of her therapeutic treatments. Ginnan currently teaches Therapeutic Communications, Japanese Meridian Therapy, and Oriental Bodywork at the Dragon Rises School of Oriental Medicine in Gainesville, where she is the Dean of Students. Ginnan is also Secretary of the Florida Branch and National Board member for the Toyohari (Japanese Acupuncture) Association in the U.S.

Debi Pais, L.C.S.W., specializes in issues of life transitions, loss and grief with individuals, couples and groups in her private practice and as a Hospice counselor. She has been licensed as a clinical social worker since 1992, and involved in the Gestalt Center since 1995. Her interests include yoga, mindfulness and outdoor adventures.
