I'm looking forward to finally being able to put the things I've been studying over the past few years to good use in Togo, and to get a little work experience in my field. I look forward to hearing from many of you soon.
Take Care, Brooke
Thanks to Judy Shea for bringing her interest and experience in architecture to the Building Committee. We look forward to your return in the fall, Judy.
Our Quaker Process Study group wants to find out more about Quaker involvement in 20th century social movements -- Women's Rights, Civil Rights, Peace, etc. We are having difficulty finding materials to study on these topics. If you have suggestions, please tell Connie Ray, Jean Larson or Jeannie Buskirk as soon as possible.
Morning on Mirror Lake
Sitting in a wooden rowboat, dark water gently lapping its sides.
No need to talk, just being together
on this quiet lake, on this summer morning is enough.
Cane poles in
hand we watch the bobbers glide on the serene surface.
My bobber dips
then suddenly disappears and my heart leaps as I feel the tug on the
line.
It must be the granddaddy of all!
Adrenalin pumping, I finally
horse my prize into the bottom of the boat, all six inches of a
flopping golden iridescent sunfish.
This is a great time for a boy
and his dad - a great time to be alive.
