AITP is the Association of Information Technology Professionals. We're the "North Central Florida" chapter (#298), and this particular chapter is in Region 7.

The North Central Florida chapter of AITP won the Region 7 "Chapter of the Year" award for 1998!

AITP Mission Statement: "It is the mission of AITP to provide superior leadership and education in Information Technology. AITP is dedicated to using the synergy of Information Technology partnerships to provide education and benefits to our members and to working with the industry to assist in the overall promotion and direction of Information Technology."

AITP is a lasting investment in your professional development and your company's future growth. AITP means individual and company benefits through:

A major purpose of AITP is the development of educational programs for self-improvement of its members. The association encourages high standards of competence and professional attitude, as well as increasing awareness of the impact of information processing on society, stressing members' responsibility to employers and society. It promulgates a Code of Ethics and Standards of Ethical Professional Practice.

"Contributions or gifts to the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP dues) are not tax deductible as charitable contributions. However, they may be tax deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses."

Anyone with an interest in computers, information technology, etc., is welcome - dinner reservations are requested, however. Our dinner meetings are normally held on the 4th Tuesday of the month; however, we usually meet on the 3rd Tuesday in November and December due to the holidays, and we usually take a break and/or enjoy a picnic gathering in the summer.

Board meetings are normally held on the 1st Tuesday of the month. All members and their guests are welcome at the board meetings.

Here's a link to a recent (Sept. 29, 1999) mention of AITP and the benefits of a professional organization at TechRepublic, "The IT Community Hub":
