While he hasn't garnered much attention lately, Kevin Maguire remains one of my favorite artists. His first regular assignment on the new Justice League series of the 80's saw him praised by both critics and fans alike. While I think his figurework and style are fabulous, he's most well-known for his ability to draw distinctive, believeable, and very expressive faces. Since his work on Justice League, he's turned in a masterpiece in the form of his two issues of The Adventures of Captain America. It was a shame he could only complete two issues but what an amazing two issues they were! Since then he's kept a finger in the comic book pie by illustrating various covers, fill-in issues, and his own two short-lived series: Strikeback! and Trinity Angels.
