BIOGRAPHY OF PAUL MOONOAK I was born March 18 in Miami, Florida and grew up there among coconut palms, Cubans, condos, and the sparkling Atlantic. I also spent time in the Caribbean, especially Nassau. Everything in the subtropics is bright: the sunshine, deep green grass, shimmering blue seas, dazzling flowers, even the houses are often painted bright colors. As an artist I reflect this background in my paintings. It was in College, working part time in the Writing Lab, that I met one of those beautiful Cubans, and in 1980, got married. We moved to Gainesville, Florida to attend the University of Florida where I got my Bachelor's degree in Religion. My first son, Arian, was born in Miami in 1984, and my second, Tammen, also in Miami, in 1987. In 1990, I was introduced to Neo-Paganism and Wicca, and immediately felt I had found my spiritual home. I was invested as minister in 1997 in my tradition, The Church of All Worlds, and within the Pagan community I am also a Bard, teacher, writer, and local leader. Several of my articles and essays have been published in Pagan journals, and I teach workshops at Pagan gatherings in Florida and Georgia. I currently live in the woods of North Florida on a couple of acres of land with my sons and my cat, Kaya (a Jamaican term for marijuana). My passions are painting (colorful & abstract acrylics), music (from Marylin Manson to Tchaikovsky), and my kids. I also like shrimp scampi, Bailey's, traveling around Florida, boogie boarding, and beautiful people.
