THE DIRECTORACT, a not-for-profit organization, was founded in 1984 by Sybil M. Odom, Ph.D. With degrees in Theatre, Child Drama and Theatre Education, Sybil is a published author and internationally produced playwright/lyricist who has been acting, directing, writing and teaching in the theatre for over 15 years. Although she has served as Program Coordinator for the internationally recognized Arts in Medicine program at Shands Hospital/University of Florida, and is a Professor of Theatre at both Antioch University and Santa Fe Community College, her first love has always been sharing the magic and the lessons of the stage with young people. Her film credits include work with Academy Award nominee, Bill Suchy, Emmy Award winner, Charles St. Clair and Nickelodeon studios. An oft-invited speaker and hands-on educator, Sybil has presented at such events as The Florida Young Author's Conference, statewide Theatre Summits and Arts in Medicine Symposia. Her enthusiastic and infectious style make her a favorite at seminars, workshops and conferences. For more information on Sybil's plays, or to book her for your next event, email SMOdom@aol.com. |
