2003/2004
History:
The Alachua County Council of PTAs was first chartered July 29, 1960, and reorganized April 30, 1985.

In 1983, Superintendent Magann called a meeting to establish a Council after watching state legislators having a breakfast meeting in Tallahassee with the Florida PTA. Magann did not find any PTA representatives from Alachua County. He realized the opportunity and strength that the PTA had in representing issues that effect children. 

Today the ACCPTA represents 4,857 members in Alachua County, and serves as an umbrella organization for nearby counties that have no council.
